Verkalktes Herz: Unbemerkt und oft tödlich! Anzeichen einer Koronaren Herzkrankheit (KHK)
Quietly, inconspicuously, and often caused by ourselves – this is how coronary heart disease (CHD) creeps into our lives. While it may be unpleasant to hear, many cases of CHD are preventable. Even genetic factors, such as high cholesterol levels, are no excuse, because with appropriate measures, the risk can be effectively counteracted. CHD is the leading cause of cardiovascular deaths and one of the most dangerous diseases in the world. 00:00 | The Silent Killer! 02:39 | What is coronary heart disease (CHD)? 04:41 | What symptoms indicate CHD? 06:31 | How is CHD diagnosed? 07:34 | The significance of elevated cholesterol levels 11:58 | What treatment options are available? #coronaryheartdisease #hearthealth #medicine #health ⏩ First get informed, then supplement: Feel free to take a look at my guides https://bit.ly/RatgeberHowTo ✅ ❎ 100% independent ❎ 100% study-based ❎ 100% medically accurate What is coronary heart disease (CHD)? CHD refers to the narrowing of the coronary arteries that supply your heart with vital blood, oxygen, and nutrients. These narrowings are usually caused by atherosclerosis, a disease in which cholesterol and other fatty acids build up in the walls of the arteries. These narrowings lead to the heart no longer receiving sufficient oxygen, which in the worst case scenario can lead to a heart attack or sudden cardiac death. Invisible Danger: Early Signs and Symptoms One of the greatest dangers of CHD is that it can go asymptomatic for a long time. Only when the disease is already advanced do symptoms such as chest pain (angina pectoris) occur, which can radiate to the arm, back, or jaw. This pain often worsens with physical exertion or stress and improves with rest. Other possible symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, and an irregular heartbeat. Particularly dangerous: Many people only notice they have coronary heart disease when they suffer a heart attack. How is coronary heart disease diagnosed? The diagnosis of coronary heart disease begins with a thorough medical history and physical examination. Typical tests include an electrocardiogram (ECG), stress tests, and imaging procedures such as coronary angiography or computed tomography (CT) of the heart. Blood tests to determine cholesterol levels and other risk factors are also very important. A quick and accurate diagnosis can save lives. The Importance of Elevated Cholesterol Levels Cholesterol is a necessary component of the body, but too high levels can be dangerous. High LDL cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) increases the risk of atherosclerosis and thus of coronary heart disease and heart attacks. It is important to check cholesterol levels regularly and, if necessary, take steps to lower them. A balanced diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, oat bran, and psyllium husks can help lower cholesterol.
