【赤ちゃん・ニホンザル・４K動画】小さなママと小さな赤ちゃん　リラちゃん＆グラママ

2026年度も、淡路モンキーセンターには待望のベビーラッシュが訪れました。今年も最新映像を交えながら、“推しの子”たちの成長を中心にお届けしていきます。今回の主役は、生後二か月のリラちゃん。小柄なママ・グラから生まれた、小さくて愛らしい女の子です。前回の動画でも触れた通り、グラは奇跡的な幸運に恵まれ、初めての赤ちゃんを無事に出産しました。 生後二週間ほどまでは、授乳、寝かしつけ、ご機嫌取り、歩行練習と、ママは休む暇もないほど忙しい日々を送ります。しかし、リラちゃんが今の月齢まで育つと、ようやくグラ自身のペースを取り戻せるようになります。一方で、赤ちゃん側にも自我が芽生え始め、ママとの小さな衝突が増える時期でもあります。駄々をこねるという“赤ちゃんの最終奥義”を発動しながら、自分の意思を伝えようとする姿は、成長の証でもあります。 そんな中でもリラちゃんは、ママ思いの優しい性格。グラが心配しないよう、常に“すぐ駆けつけられる距離”を意識して遊ぶ賢い子です。男の子のように激しく遊ぶ一面もあり、活発さと慎重さを併せ持つバランスの良さが魅力です。 さらに、1歳を迎える頃には“お世話し隊”としての才能が開花。周囲に赤ちゃんが生まれると、率先して面倒を見ようとする姿が目立つようになりました。今年はすでにおばあちゃん（ミー）の赤ちゃんが誕生し、リラちゃんにとっては“年下の叔父さん”が誕生した形に。さらに、グラの双子の義妹グリもまもなく出産予定で、ここ数年バラバラになりがちだったミー・グリ・グラ家が、再び一緒に過ごす時間が増えています。 ニホンザルのメスは幼い頃から赤ちゃんの世話をしたがる傾向があり、これは人間でいう“おままごと”や“人形遊び”に近い行動です。母親から受けた愛情を、自分も試してみる学びの時間でもあります。5年後、6年後にはリラちゃん自身が母になる日が訪れるでしょう。幼い頃に学んだ知識や体験は、次の世代へと受け継がれ、そのまた次の世代へと伝わっていく。これは、淡路モンキーセンターの群れに息づく、尊い文化の継承なのです。 A new baby boom has arrived once again at the Awaji Monkey Center in 2026, bringing fresh energy and new stories to the troop. This year’s spotlight falls on little Rira, now two months old. Born to her young and petite mother Gura, Rira herself is tiny, curious, and full of free‑spirited charm. As shared in the previous episode, Gura’s journey to motherhood was nothing short of miraculous, and her first baby has become a symbol of hope within the group. The first two weeks after birth are the most demanding for any Japanese macaque mother. Feeding, soothing, carrying, and helping the infant practice early movements leave almost no time for rest. But once a baby reaches Rira’s current age, the mother can finally regain her own rhythm. At the same time, the infant begins to develop a sense of individuality, leading to small clashes with the mother. Tantrums — the “ultimate technique” of baby macaques — are part of this natural process of growth. Despite this, Rira is a gentle and thoughtful child. She never strays far from her mother, always playing within a distance where Gura can rush to her immediately. She enjoys energetic, boy‑like play, yet remains considerate and aware of her surroundings. By the time she turned one, Rira began to show a strong interest in caring for younger infants, becoming an enthusiastic member of the “baby‑care squad.” This year, her grandmother Mii has already given birth, making the newborn Rira’s “younger uncle.” Gura’s twin sister‑in‑law, Guri, is also expecting soon. After several years of spending more time apart, the families of Mii, Guri, and Gura are once again gathering closely, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere around the troop. Female Japanese macaques naturally show interest in caring for younger infants, much like human children playing house. It is a way to practice the affection they once received from their own mothers.
