Elton John Guitarist Caleb Quaye Interview

I visited the home of Caleb Quaye in Los Angeles to discuss his amazing career and the new documentary about his life ("Louder Than Rock”). The first concert I ever attended was Elton John on his 1976 tour when Elton was the biggest musical artist on the planet. Little did I know I was watching a musician on the stage who I would interview almost 50 years later. Caleb goes back to the time when Elton was Reg Dwight; a young keyboardist playing in pubs around England. He was Reg’s first musical cohort and became instrumental in getting Reg Dwight signed to Dick James Music. When Elton's career exploded Caleb went on to play on Elton’s first 4 studio albums; and later rejoined Elton for his last two classic '70s albums: Rock Of The Westies and Blue Moves. Needless to say Caleb Quaye has lived an remarkable life; and it was a privilege to sit down and learn so much about an artist who had such a profound impact on my own life. I even had the chance to listen to some of my favorite tracks with Caleb; something I’ve imagined doing since I was a teenager.
