Figuring out how to choose yarn for knitting seems to be a major problem for many beginners. There are so many choices and sadly most of them just focus on the color. And even there, finding a good yarn color combination can be hard. With this video I want to fill in the gaps and show you everything you need to know about yarn properties. What's the best yarn weight/needle size. Which material should you pick. Because some yarns are very durable, while others are super soft, or show a nice stitch definition. And depending on your project this might mean you need to go for Arcylic, sheep wool, or even cashmere. Spinning is also often an overlooked topic I want to address with this video. The best yarn for knitting a scarf can be a single or 2 ply but for socks, you probably want a sturdy 4-ply or even 8-ply that can withstand a lot of wear and tear.
