South Indian Style Mushroom Curry | Perfect & Easy Side Dish for Chapathi or Rice |

This easy South Indian style mushroom curry is creamy, flavorful, and perfect as a side dish for chapati or rice. Made with simple ingredients and coconut milk, this recipe is quick, delicious, and perfect for everyday cooking. Try this no-water mushroom curry for the best taste! INGREDIENTS: Button mushrooms – 250g Onion – 1 cup, chopped Tomatoes – 1 cup, chopped Coconut milk – 1 cup (thick) Garlic – 1 tbsp, chopped Green chillies – 3–4 (cut) Curry leaves – 2 springs Mustard seeds – 1 tsp Cumin seeds – 1 tsp Turmeric powder – ½ tsp Red chilli powder – 1 tsp Coriander powder – 2 tsp Garam masala – ½ tsp Salt – to taste Oil – 2–3 tbsp Fresh coriander – for garnish METHOD: Heat a kadai with 2–3 tbsp oil. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds. Add 3–4 green chillies (cut) and 1 tbsp chopped garlic. Add 2 sprigs curry leaves and fry well until aromatic. Add 1 cup chopped onion and sauté until it turns brown in colour. Add 1 cup chopped tomato and 1 tsp salt, cook until the tomatoes turn soft. Add 2 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, and ½ tsp turmeric powder, and fry for a minute. Add 250g mushrooms (cleaned & sliced lengthwise), mix well without adding water. Cover and cook for 5 minutes on low flame. Open the lid and cook until the water drains completely. Add 1 cup thick coconut milk on low flame, mix well and adjust salt. Simmer for 5 minutes (do not boil). Add ½ tsp garam masala and fresh chopped coriander leaves, mix well and switch off the flame.
