Actor and singer Mitsuhiro Oikawa appeared at the premiere screening of his lead WOWOW drama series "Akuka" in Tokyo on the 18th, alongside fellow lead actress Meisa Kuroki. Regarding his first impression of Kuroki, whom he co-starred with, Mitsuhiro confessed, "She's very cool and mature, and I assumed she'd ignore my jokes, but she occasionally flashed an innocent smile, and I was blown away by that contrast." During the kissing scene with Kuroki, he revealed that he used the "chin-grab" technique, lifting her chin. "I did the trendy 'chin-grab'. I think it's a scene that usually freaks out girls, but I did it myself and it pranked me," he said, drawing laughter from the audience. Kuroki, who showed off her beautiful legs in an ultra-mini dress that day, confessed about her impression of Oikawa, "He's hard to grasp, but he has a lot of charm." She said there was a scene where Oikawa carried her in a princess carry, and she recalled with a smile, "When I heard it was a princess carry, I thought, 'Are you serious?' But then he lifted me up so easily, I was so excited. I was so excited." The drama is based on the novel of the same name by author Shimada Masahiko, and is a financial suspense story that depicts people controlled by money, while bringing to light the true nature of humanity. A homeless man wakes up to find a bag containing 1 million yen in bills at his feet, but it turns out the money is counterfeit. The story unfolds as Erika (Kuroki), an investigator with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Second Investigative Division, goes undercover to investigate a jewelry store suspected of money laundering. When the existence of Nonomiya (Oikawa), an investor who controls huge amounts of money, emerges as a line of inquiry, and they attempt to make contact... Oikawa plays Nonomiya Fuyuhiko, an investor who controls huge amounts of money, while Kuroki plays Miyazono Erika, an undercover investigator in charge of economic crimes at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Director Konno Moto also attended the press conference. Filming began in Taiwan, and Oikawa said, "I was conscious of playing a sad character, but when I was always thinking about it, I gradually became sadder... My personality has definitely become darker since filming began..." It seems he was influenced by his role. After the Taiwan location shoot, they had a yakiniku party to celebrate the end of the shoot, and when Kuroki revealed one side of her, saying, "(Kuroki) just grills it! He's the yakiniku magistrate," Kuroki responded with a strong, "I won't let you touch the meat!", which made everyone laugh. "Akuka" will start on WOWOW Prime from the 23rd, and will be broadcast every Sunday at 10pm. There will be a total of five episodes, with the first episode being broadcast for free.
