Over a decade since some residents from Airport Valley in Walmer township got electricity
It's been over a decade that some residents from informal settlement, Airport Valley, in Walmer township, are getting their electricity directly from a substation. The informal settlement has been around since 2004. In 2015, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality began the electrification of Airport Valley informal settlement, but expansion of the community is making it difficult to account for every household.
