Bringing Water Closer to Home in Rural Communities in Tanzania
In rural communities in Tanzania, women and girls are most affected by remote and unsafe water sources as they are responsible for collecting water for their families. Restaurant owner Janet Robert couldn’t get more than 20 liters of water per day and that severely impacted her business. Through the Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program for Results, Janet and more than 3.3 million people in Tanzania have gained access to safe water closer to their homes.
