#25 Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Final Chapter: The Not So Impossible Lair (FINALE)

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a 2D side scroller platformer game developed by Playtonic Games which is considered a spin-off of the first game. In this game, you will again be using the titular duo Yooka and Laylee in their goal of helping the Royal Stingdom and its ruler Queen Phoebee in thwarting Capital B’s attempt of conquering the kingdom. Standing in your way of stopping the meddling of Capital B is the so-called Impossible Lair. Can you do it? Unlike the first title, this game received much better reception from Critics garnering a metacritic scores of 81 (Switch), 81 (PC), 82 (PS4) and 84 (Xone). Praises were given on its modern take on the 2D platformer genre, its replayability and how polished its gameplay was. On the other hand, criticisms were mainly focused on its game design, non-innovative levels and controls as well as it questionable difficulty. As for me, although I found the game TOO difficult sometimes (there is a certain challenge I can’t do in this game). Overall, it is still a better experience compared to the first title. Moreover, unlike what the critics said. I like the different levels of the game which highlighted different styles of challenges in order to beat them. However, I did not like the lack of any notable boss fights in the game. Still, it was overall an above average experience and is recommended to fans of 2D platformers. Enjoy the walkthrough!!!
