Central Florida Birding by Maxfield Weakley
Learn about the spectacular birds and birding Central Florida has to offer! This presentation will help you understand the differences between resident species, migratory birds, and rare visitors to our part of the Sunshine State. It will also introduce you to ten of our region's best hotspots for birding. Max will cover the basics of birding, why birding is important, and what it takes to get started birdwatching. Maxfield Weakley, Vice President of the Marion Audubon Society, is an avid birder and wildlife photographer. Before graduating from the University of Central Florida with a BS in Biology, he helped found the UCF Knighthawk Audubon Campus Chapter and was photography chair. He has led several walks for Orange Audubon Society's NORTH SHORE BIRDING FESTIVAL, and numerous private and public birding walks around Central Florida. Now, he shares his knowledge and passion for wild birds through his website, MaxBirdFacts.com. Email him at [email protected] Yellow-billed Cuckoo with caterpillar. Photo: Max Weakley
