For years, the parcel delivery industry has been criticized for its working conditions. Günter Wallraff witnessed firsthand in previous undercover assignments as a parcel delivery driver how much the work wears drivers down. Has anything changed? "Team Wallraff" received numerous tips suggesting otherwise – especially concerning DPD, one of Germany's largest parcel services. For months, the reporters conducted undercover investigations into DPD. DPD primarily uses subcontractors to deliver parcels. The reporters' undercover investigations revealed how this system pushes drivers to their limits and facilitates their exploitation. They encountered enormous work pressure, unpaid overtime, offers of undeclared cash, and appalling living conditions. They also received explosive documents regarding workplace safety in some dilapidated warehouses.
