Cutting Trimming Fitting Polymer Clay Tiles in Mosaic/Mixed-media Art #polymerclayart

This vid shows me using my two favorite cutting/trimming tools for my polymer clay mosaic work. It's very long! It is mostly me using a variety of strategies to cut, trim and shape these tiles. And, since I'm not grouting this piece, I want all of my tesserae to fit nice and snug together, so I had to trim the foot of most of these tiles quite a bit. (The foot is the bottom of the tile--the part that will be glued down to the substrate. If it sticks out, I won't be able to get the adjacent tiles to fit nice and snug against it.) . Here is a link to purchase the handheld cutter: https://amzn.to/2QO8777 . Discovering this tool was a game-changer for me because it allowed me to treat polymer clay tiles like any other mosaic tesserae (ie cutting it however I wanted, rather than being stuck w/baked tiles, the shape of which I couldn't fundamentally change). . Don't worry if you can't hear me in the beginning. I'm just blathering on about how I aim to distribute the various colors and patterns around the central O evenly. Other info: This mosaic is intended to hang indoors. Wood substrate w/KILZ acrylic paint primer on it. Adhesive: Weldbond Ungrouted .
