The Lost Tools of Learning | Dorothy Sayers | Introductory Audiobook Series

What are the lost tools of learning? This is the introductory episode for an upcoming series that will explore old books. We will be reading through them in their entirety, ,similar to audiobooks. In this episode, we read through an essay from Dorothy L. Sayers. Dorothy was a novelist in the early 20th century. She was distinguished in her education and in 1915 was awarded first class honors in Medieval French at Oxford. Five years later, her degree was officially awarded. Before this time, women were ineligible or degrees were not formally given until the rules were changed in 1920. She was one of the first women in history, at Oxford, to receive an official degree. In this essay, we explore the idea of returning to a more classical style of education. Where the liberal arts are explored, in particular, the original Trivium. Should this foundation of learning how to learn become a staple in education systems as it apparently once was? Links & Sources The Lost Tools of Learning - Dorothy L.
