Jubiläum zu Pfingsten: 200. Waldpartie in Ahlsdorf

The Mansfeld region of Saxony-Anhalt is known for its unusual Whitsun customs. In very different ways, winter (the "Dreckschweine") is driven away by spring (the "Laufläufer"). This was also the case on Whit Monday 2024. May 20th marked a special milestone in the history of the tradition in Ahlsdorf, which has now taken place for exactly the 200th time. First, the Whitsun boys presented themselves in elaborate costumes, this year, for example, as Harry Potter and his friends, as well as the "founding members" of the Whitsun Society. Accompanied by the Großörner marching band, the Whitsun boys then marched to their baptismal water, where the forest walk turned into a slide. The country explorers Stefan B. Westphal and Chris Luzio Schönburg were right in the middle of it all.
