Vae Victis "Carnal Carnival Party" 25 Febbraio 1990. Part 1 of 2.

Ho ritrovato qualche giorno fa un video che avevamo girato al "Vae Victis il 25 Febbraio 1990. Il Party si chiamava Carnaval Carnal e proprio quella sera oltre a Ricky Montanari, suonava il compianto Mark Kamins, scomparso il giorno di San Valentino del 2013 ( è possibile vederlo al 3:25 della Parte 2 del video). E’ il nostro piccolo tributo ai nostri club Ethos Mama Club, Diabolika, Echoes e Vae Victis, che all'epoca spaccavano. Siccome la qualità dell'audio lasciava a desiderare, mi sono permesso di remixare gli stessi pezzi della serata. Il video è stato montato 24 anni fa, quindi siate buoni… . In sostanza, è la storia di quattro ragazzi che partivano il Sabato dall'Abruzzo per andare a ballare in uno di questi clubs e poi tornava a casa dopo aver fatto il pieno di musica. Un ringraziamento va a Bruno Farina "Frutta", Umberto Gramaccioni e Renzo Menna che erano con me quella sera. "I locali all'epoca forse erano meno, sicuramente c’erano molti ma molti meno djs di ora ma proprio per questo chi aveva talento poteva avere più occasioni di adesso per poterlo esprimere e quindi per emergere e farsi un nome, però il rovescio della medaglia era che se non valevi, sparivi. Ora entrano in gioco tante variabili e spesso il talento è importante fino ad un certo punto. In sostanza degli anni della gavetta ricordo che o ci sapevi fare o stavi a casa. (Flavio Vecchi). The Party was called “Carnal Carnaval” and that night as well as DJ Ricky Montanari there was also Mark Kamins who passed away on Valentine's Day of 2013 (it is possible to see him at 3:25 min of the Part 2 of this video. It is our small tribute to our clubs Ethos Mama Club, Diabolika, Echoes and Vae Victis who at the time were the best we could have in Italy. Since the sound quality lof the tape was poor, I took the liberty of remixing the same pieces of that evening. The video has been realized 24 years ago, so be good. In essence, it is the story of four boys who were leaving on Saturday evening from Abruzzo to go dancing in one of these famous clubs and then went home after being "full of music"....A big thank you goes to Bruno Farina aka "Fruit", Umberto Gramaccioni and Renzo Menna who were with me that night. "There were not so many clubs s at the time, but certainly there were a lot less than many dJs now but for those who had this talent could have more opportunities than now to be able to express themselves and then to emerge and make a name, but the downside was that if you were not good at DJing, you wercould suddenly disappear. Now many variables that come into DJing. Often talent is important but up to a certain point. Basically during the years of apprenticeship I remember that if you were not good you better go home.
