Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Boats burned out, November 2025
Saturday 22nd November 2025: This video sees me returning to my favourite canal - The Monmouthshire & Brecon. The 'Mon & Brec' was where I first experienced life on a narrowboat and it must be said, my initial reaction to it was definitely not 'how wonderful this is!!!' - Things have obviously changed for me since that day! Anyway, the video shows a 2 mile walk I just did - in steady rain - from Gilwern to Govilon, two small villages along the canal, Govilon being the site of a fire, very recently, where sadly, two small boats were completely destroyed. This canal, whatever the weather, never ceases to rejuvenate me, and I hope you'll enjoy watching the walk as much I enjoyed doing it! Cheers, Jeff
