Malta | A walking tour in Valletta and a boat trip to the Three Cities

Walking through Valletta felt like stepping into a living museum shaped by centuries of history and sunlight. Wandering along its honey-colored streets, every corner revealed a new story—grand Baroque facades, quiet balconies draped with colorful shutters, and sweeping views of the deep-blue Mediterranean, while the Upper Barrakka Gardens offered a peaceful pause and breathtaking views over the Grand Harbour. The boat trip across the Grand Harbour to the Three Cities—Vittoriosa (Birgu), Senglea, and Cospicua—added a magical new perspective to the journey. From the water, the fortified walls rose dramatically, reflecting Malta’s rich maritime and military past. Stepping ashore, the atmosphere felt quieter and more local, with narrow streets, historic waterfronts, and charming cafés lining the docks.
