Hydroureter – This affects the ureters, which carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. When a blockage in the ureters prevents them from properly transporting urine to the bladder, they become swollen. Hydroureteronephrosis – This condition affects the kidneys, along with the ureters that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. Swelling of both the kidneys and ureters can worsen the condition.
