While staying at a resort near Moscow for two days, I took a several-hour walk to the town of Zvenigorod. I learned that it was a place with a rich history, home to famous Russians, including the writer Anton Chekhov. I visited the hospital where he once worked. Then I went to the renowned St. Sava Storozhevsky Monastery, which once served a defensive function. Along the way, I chatted with locals, who told me about its history and places worth visiting.
