Hibbing's F6 Tornado (FOUND FOOTAGE - READ DESC)
It was the year 1990, the Hesston & Goessel F5 twins had already happened, and the Plainfield F5 had yet to occur. While Keysota is known for major tornadoes and outbreaks, 1990 was one of the worst years for the state. On April 9, a massive Super Outbreak would sweep across the entire state, taking the lives of many, and injuring incredible amounts of people. Out of the entire outbreak, 19 tornadoes were rated F4, at least 7 were rated F5, and one 1 was rated F6. This F6 tornado in particular was analyzed by Ted Fujita, and several other damage assessors, an incredible amount for one tornado. Ever since the removal of the F6+ intensities on the Fujita scale, tornadoes could only be rated up to F5. However, for one tornado it would determine otherwise, and this one specific tornado would claim the title as not just the strongest tornado, but the one with the only F6 tornado to be upgraded from F5. This tornado had windspeeds around 310-340 MPH, making it incredibly destructive and causing very deep ground scouring.
