Gurten

Gurten Park offers a programme of pampering and leisure activities for families, athletes, music fans and gourmets. There we took the funicular to reach the top and then walked around the park, enjoyed climbing the observation tower, explored the mild challenge bridges, had great fun watching the train for children, and much, much more! Climbing by funicular, to access a magnificent park, you can come with its picnic, BBQ, activities for children, restaurants with panoramic views. Bern's local mountain is a hotspot and highlight of the metropolis, provided good visibility. As a restaurant I can only recommend the self-service of Migros. The management of the park has been difficult for years, as shown by numerous reviews of the last 4 years. So, best to pack Znüni, Zvieri or something for barbecue and walk up or drive. The view is 5 *. We’ve visited Gurten every time we’ve been to Bern — and it never disappoints! It’s the perfect place for a fun-filled family outing, with something for everyone. The huge wooden playground is fantastic too, with lots to climb, explore and enjoy. The views over Bern from the top are breathtaking, and the area is beautifully maintained with lots of open space, picnic areas, and even DIY BBQ stations. Gurten is a gem — we’d recommend spending at least half a day here. Beautiful nature, great facilities, and loads to keep kids happy. Don’t miss it if you’re in Bern!
