INDORE-KHANDWA RAILWAY LINE GUAGE CONVERSION WORK PROGRESS |NEW OMKARESHWAR ROAD RAIL STATION UPDATE

In today's update video, we will see the gauge upgradation work of Indore to Khandwa railway line! Talking about history, the British had constructed this railway line in the year (1874-1878) by taking a loan of Rs. 1 crore from Holkar State. At one time, this entire line provided connectivity to Hyderabad from Ratlam-Indore-Khandwa-Akola route (Delhi-Hyderabad 1668kms.) but it was a meter gauge line. Keeping in mind the future needs, in the year 2008, the Union Cabinet had approved the gauge conversion of this 473 km long railway line for about Rs. 1421 crore. If seen from Ratlam side, the work from Ratlam to Indore Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) was completed long back. In this route, only the work between Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) to Sanawad and Khandwa to Akot is left. Gauge conversion of the rest of the route has been done. The work from Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) to Sanawad has also been divided into two parts! Mhow to Balwara Mukhtiyara and Balwara Mukhtiyara to Sanawad. In today's video, we will see the work progress of the New Omkareshwar Road Railway Station being constructed between Balwara Mukhtiyara and Sanawad.
