158. A Tour of My Current Projects | Remaking a worn out quilt

If you’re new here, a very warm welcome to the Crafty Cupboard! If you’ve been stitching along with me for a while, it’s lovely to have you with me again. Today let’s have a short tour of my crafting space, a look at the projects currently on my shelf, and some quiet chatting as I work on repairing and finishing a very well-loved quilt. I love all types of hand sewing – especially embroidery. I also enjoy the relaxed creativity slow stitching provides. Today’s project is a practical one – saving what I can of a very very worn out quilt. I am talking you can see daylight through it! I cut away the pieces worth saving, stitch them together, add a backing, and finish the binding by hand. This video is less about perfection and more about showing the resourcefulness of sewing. It is about the importance of caring for old textiles, making better, and taking the time to finish things slowly and thoughtfully. I hope it gives you a sense of the kind of work I love, and the calm hand-sewn (usually) pace of this channel.
