The abundance of creation in his literary life of just 23 years is unparalleled. Although he dabbled in various branches of literature, his main identity is as a poet. His life began in an unassuming environment. Before he could cross the school threshold, he joined the British Indian Army in 1917. Despite being a child of a Muslim family and being initiated into Islamic education in childhood, he grew up with a secular nature. At the same time, a rebellious nature developed within him. In 1922, the British government imprisoned him for treason. He became known as the rebel poet of undivided India under the British Empire. Nazrul, who was famous for his well-built body, immense health and lively smile, suddenly came to an end when he was seriously ill with a nervous illness in 1942. As a result, he had to remain completely isolated from literary work for 34 long years until his death in 1976. He was shifted from Kolkata to Dhaka with his family in 1972 at the behest of the Bangladesh government. He was granted Bangladeshi nationality in 1976. He died here.[3] He changed places here after 17 days. In November 1921, he returned to Comilla. On November 21, there was an all-India strike - on this occasion, Nazrul took to the road again; He went around the city with a non-cooperation procession and sang, "Give beggars! Give beggars! Come back, you people of the city" - Nazrul's poems, songs and articles of this time express the spirit of rebellion. In 1976, Nazrul's health also began to deteriorate. He spent the last days of his life in the PG Hospital in Dhaka. He died on 29 August 1976. Nazrul wrote in one of his songs, "Bury me next to the mosque, brother / so that I can hear the call to prayer from the grave": - Considering this wish of the poet, it was decided to bury the poet next to the Dhaka University Central Mosque and his tomb was built accordingly. However, Pramila Devi's last wish was that her husband be buried next to her grave (in Nazrul's ancestral home in Churulia). But Pramila's last wish was not fulfilled.
