Its because this is an older build, aside from the bg being kinda janky, the level gimmicks work smoothly and consistently as intended. Safe to say You might also be wondering why the quality of the footage is suddenly so much better and thats because both obs and clipchamp respectively suck. I found out that obs just arbitrarily refuses to record with the settings I give it (but nvidia geforce experience does), and then I found out that clipchamp hard caps everything at 30 fps and its completely unchangable. I shouldnt have been surprised because its microslopt we're talkin about. Nailing the bg parallax speeds was tricky when we werent sure on how tall the level would actually be as we kept developing; the plan was to make underwater take up anywhere from 2/3 to 3/5ths of the stages height. Though more up to date versions feature a better parallaxing water, the bg implementation is quite unfinished too, so id rather take some funky busted scrolls over missing the entire uw background. Just another thing needing to be fixed when we get around to cleaning up the builds for a proper release after the detail dive video.
