A family car that's your business companion during the week, but provides a safe and relaxing ride for you and the kids on weekends and especially during the holidays—that's the Ford Focus Wagon. It also proves to be a very versatile car, with a huge trunk and all sorts of nice details that make driving more relaxing, such as a Head-up display and built-in safety features for towing a trailer. With a towing capacity of 1,800 kg and a retractable tow bar, the Focus is more versatile than ever. Allard Kalff and Andreas Pol delve into the car's high-tech onboard, its driving characteristics, and its towing capacity, as Tom Coronel has secretly attached a whopper of a boat to the back of the Focus. The Focus has always been an important car for Ford, and with the new generation, that hasn't diminished. Ford itself claims this is the best Focus ever, so that's promising. Yes, a new car is nine times out of ten better than its predecessor, but Ford has invested heavily in new technologies, as well as new trim levels designed to appeal to new segments of the market. The Ford Focus Wagon, like its five-door bodystyle, is available in various trim levels and with different engines. In terms of trim levels, Ford is continuing the trend established with the Fiesta. Besides the Trend Edition, Trend Business, and Titanium Business, which also account for a large portion of business drivers, there are the sporty ST Line Business, the luxurious Vignale, and the extra-robust Active Business. And the dessert is yet to come, because a Focus ST is also coming (both as a five-door and as a wagon). The engine lineup consists of five engines, each with varying power outputs. The 1.0 EcoBoost is available with 100 and 125 hp, while the 1.5 EcoBoost petrol engine (which Allard and Andreas drive) delivers 150 hp or, in the ST Line, 182 hp. The sporty top model, the Focus ST Wagon, has a 280 hp 2.3 EcoBoost engine. For diesel drivers, there is a 1.5 EcoBlue engine with 95 hp or 120 hp, and a 2.0 EcoBlue diesel engine with 150 hp (only available in the ST Line). Allard and Andreas drive the Ford Focus Wagon in the Titanium Business trim, equipped with the 150 hp (110 kW) 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. It starts at €30,010. This includes a full range of features, including an 8-inch Touch & Swipe screen, SYNC 2.5 with smartphone connectivity and Bluetooth, all major safety systems, Dual Zone Automatic Air Conditioning, LED daytime running lights, front sports seats, ambient lighting, and more. With all the extra options available, such as the Style Pack Titanium, Winter Pack, Parking Pack, Technology Pack (with adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and more smart safety systems), the Bang & Olufsen Play audio system, and more, the total price is €36,610.
