APRENDA como usar o CORTE DE FREQUÊNCIA Crossover ; UPMOTORS

I want to be notified when the next class for the sound system installation course will be 👇🏽 https://bit.ly/Cadastro-Som --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We see many ready-made recipes for applying frequency cutoffs to speakers, but how does this work? Is it possible for you to create your own frequency cutoff recipe? The answer is yes, but it is necessary to perfectly understand how the frequency range that the human ear can hear works and which speaker operates in each part of this range, and that's what we're going to talk about now. Our ear has the sensitivity to hear a frequency range that goes from 20hz to 20khz, and within this range, the most varied sounds that make up music occur. Knowing this, we must act in the sound system design so that all these frequencies have the possibility of being reproduced in order to emit the sound of a song with sound quality. If we think about the simplest possible way to reproduce sound, it would be a small battery-powered radio that only has a small speaker. This little speaker can reproduce music, but with low sound quality because it's not possible for a speaker to have good performance across the entire frequency range. When designing a car audio system, we must aim to reproduce all frequencies as best as possible with good power and quality, and for that, we use a specific speaker to reproduce each part of the frequency range. For example: a subwoofer for bass sound from 20Hz to 700Hz, a horn for mid-range sound from 700Hz to 2kHz, and a tweeter for treble sound from 2kHz to 20kHz. For even better sound quality, there are more variations among these speakers. If each speaker reproduces a part of the frequency range, and the radio sends the entire frequency range to the amplifier, then all the speakers will play the entire range, and this is bad because a speaker working outside its range will reproduce a distorted sound, even risking burning out its coil. To solve this, we use frequency cutoff, also called a crossover. This will divide the frequency range into small parts and deliver each one to its compatible speaker. The tools used by the crossover are the HPF (high pass filter), which allows the passage of high frequencies from a certain point, and the LPF (low pass filter), which only allows the passage of low frequencies from a certain point. In this way, by applying an HPF and LPF filter, we will limit the sending of unwanted frequencies to a specific speaker. A practical example of application is when we have a horn driver that should only reproduce mid-range sounds. To do this, we should configure the HPF at 700Hz and the LPF at 2kHz. In this way, the horn will only receive the range from 700Hz to 2kHz, which is perfect for its good performance and sound quality. The equipment that does this job is the processor or the analog crossover, both are installed in series with the RCA cables between the radio and the amplifier, in this way the sound signal is filtered before reaching the amplifier. In conclusion, I want to make it clear that there are no fixed frequency cuts that should always be used in any circumstance. You can even use someone's suggestion, but the crossover points will vary with each project and also with each ear. Therefore, try to find out the characteristics of each speaker in order to identify which frequency range it performs best in and apply the standard frequency cuts from the speaker's manual. But when listening to the sound, do small tests changing the crossover points to find the best sound quality to your liking. That's what truly tuning a sound is all about. I'll leave it at that and look forward to seeing you with our next topic. The most complete course in Brazil, without the fluff.
