Weekend in Mexico’s Second Largest City | Guadalajara During Día de Muertos

We spent a weekend in Guadalajara, Mexico during Día de Muertos 🇲🇽💀 — and this city completely surprised us. From epic drone views to colorful celebrations, food, and history, this is Guadalajara like you’ve never seen it. In this travel vlog, we stay in a high-rise Airbnb overlooking La Minerva, then take you up to the rooftop for day and night drone flights showing the massive scale of Mexico’s second largest city. The next day, we explore Centro Histórico Guadalajara, where Día de Muertos celebrations filled the streets with Catrinas, alebrijes, music, and culture. We visit Plaza Guadalajara, Plaza de Armas, and step inside the Guadalajara Cathedral, known for its stunning architecture and stained glass. Inside the Palacio de Gobierno, we explore powerful murals by José Clemente Orozco and learn more about Jalisco’s history. We also experience the Desfile de Catrinas, one of Guadalajara’s most iconic Día de Muertos parades. Along the way, we eat our way through the city — coffee and tortas, lunch at Cafe Madrid, our first Korean BBQ, and a classic breakfast at Toks.
