🌠 Kurono Tokyo's First Meteorite Dial - Inseki ‘隕石’ Hands-on

@KuronoTokyoOfficial has just released its first-ever meteorite dial watch, and this is my hands-on first look at the Kurono Tokyo Special Projects 37mm Inseki ‘隕石’. The Inseki features a dial made from the Muonionalusta meteorite, formed over 4.5 billion years ago and believed to have landed in northern Scandinavia around one million years ago. When sliced and etched, the meteorite reveals its natural Widmanstätten pattern, created through incredibly slow cooling in space. Because of this process, every single dial is unique. Meteorite does not always produce strong visual patterns, which is why Hajime Asaoka personally inspected and selected every dial used for the Inseki. Only those with the most compelling character were approved, and as proof of this hands-on process, each watch carries Hajime’s personal seal on the dial. A white lacquered chapter ring surrounds the meteorite center, preserving Kurono Tokyo’s signature cylindrical dial. Hand-drawn Calligra Breguet-style numerals, painted in black, add depth and a human touch, while polished leaf hands and the classic 37mm case keep the Inseki elegant, restrained, and subtly otherworldly. The Kurono Tokyo Inseki ‘隕石’ is a one-time limited production release, available in-store and online on January 15th, 2025 at 11:00 PM JST.
