In addition to the author, Francesco Comina, the Archbishop of Bologna delivered a video message; Giancarla Codrignani, a longtime advocate for peace; Father Angelo Baldassarri, an expert on the memory of Monte Sole; and Beatrice Orlandini of the Zikkaron publishing house. Franz Jägerstätter was an Austrian Catholic farmer. Born in 1907, he was a conscientious objector and executed for refusing to enlist in the Nazi army. He was beatified in 2007.
