From colonial mercantilism to industrial Fordism, from financial capital to digital platforms, each major crisis has generated a reorganization of production relations. Artificial intelligence is no exception to this logic; in fact, it is a direct unfolding of the financialization after 2008, when cheap money injected by central banks went to Silicon Valley to build proprietary cloud infrastructures. The video discusses the debate between technofeudalism, surveillance capitalism, and monopoly hypercapitalism. These three interpretations diverge on the nature of what is happening: are we seeing the end of classical capitalism replaced by something more akin to digital feudalism, or are we seeing capitalism functioning exactly as it always has, now with data monopolies instead of industrial monopolies?
