Cat Fish Stew | Chef Lola's Kitchen
Ingredients: https://cheflolaskitchen.com/catfish-... hello everyone is Lola here again I hope you all are doing well so today I'm going to be showing you how I make my easy but delicious codfish stew so let's get started I'm going to start by cleaning up my peppers tomatoes onions and garlic and I'm going to wash them thoroughly and cut them into chunks so that the blending process can be made easier for my blender so while we are doing that I just want to tell you why I kind of like this catfish to you this Gio is a stew of my childhood and growing up every Sunday after church my parents will drive down to the fish or chicken market and we either get a fresh catfish or the fresh chicken and we usually use these to make either the catfish to you or the chickens to you so each time I'm making this to you it brings back a lot of good memories for me and I don't think I can ever forget these sweet memories so well back to our cooking once the paper is well blended I'll just point inside the bowl and I'm going to be setting it aside the next thing to do is just get some oil preheated in my pan and once the oil is hot I'm going to be throwing in my diced onions and I'm going to stir fry this over medium heat also the onions become translucent it's now time to add the thyme the ginger and the tomato paste I'm going to be mixing this tomato paste around a little bit so that it's one standard in the oil if it's too thick feel free to add a splash of water and I'm just going to leave this to fry for about three minutes or thereabouts and this is going to remove that sides is that usually comes along with a paste you get to notice that the tomato paste is coming together in little clusters and that we're will to know it's well done so it's now time to add our blended papers I'm just going to give that a quick mix then I'll cover it up and I'll leave it to come to a boil so while these two is boiling I'm going to be prepping my catfish so when I went to buy my cut fish at my fish store I requested that the fish butcher help me clean it up and it did a pretty good job doing that if your fish butcher doesn't offer that service it's very easy to clean it up just use some salt to kind of scrub the skin you can also use a long just use it to wash down the skin this laminates of the fishes will to come out straight away but for an extra step I like to put it inside a hot boiling water now this boiling water is not just way to remove the jet it's also going to make the fish compact so that by the time you are ready to cook its immersed you everything is not just going to scatter so after leaving the fish in the water for about three to five minutes I'll take everything out and I'll give it a rinse inside a portal in water then I'll be setting it aside so now let's go back to this tube as you can see this too is well world and it's reduced at this point I'm just going to season it with some salt curry powder black pepper paprika and some seasoning powder and I'm also going to add some chicken broth to loosen it up a little bit the next thing to do is just to drop my catfish one at a time inside this tube as you can see I'm kind of very careful dropping this it's pretty soft you don't want everything to get scattered inside this team while staring lists you again I'm not staring vigorously like I would do if I'm making chicken stew or beef stew you you just use your cooking spoons to kind of go around this to you a little bit and that is enough now I'm just going to cover this up and I'll leave the fish to cook inside this chill for about ten minutes or a little more or less depending on how big or how small your catfish is so that is it guys this to you is very easy to put together and it's very delicious the only thing I really don't like about this to you is just that whenever we make it it doesn't stay too long before everything disappears and that kind of bothers me a little bit but you know it is what it is so I'm serving this today with some boiled white rice however this goes pretty well with a variety of food like pasta couscous quinoa you can even serve this and use it as a dip for your bread it's very versatile and I'm pretty sure you are going to enjoy it as much as we do so that is it again for today and as usual all the links to the detailed recipe LET’S CONNECT!
