This August, Andrew and I hiked the wonderful Tour of Ecrins (GR54) hike in the French Alps. I have to say, this was probably the most enjoyable week-and-a-bit of hiking I've ever done and should be on everyone's list! In part one, fresh off the night train from Paris, we head over Col de l'Eychauda and pass through busy Vallouise. Then, with wobbly legs, we climb over the highest pass of the whole trek.
