The space featured expansive paintings on the walls, courtesy of Dylan, as well as a small stage and magnetic tape stretching in a sunset-like array of lines across the ceiling and walls, coalescing into an "alter-like" multimedia centerpiece sculpture with a television as the center of the "sunset". The tape camera capturing this footage was displayed thru that TV to the whole room as a separate angle of the live performance. I am working on a larger documentarian project that this will eventually fit into, with my goal being a website portfolio where anyone can access an expansive archive of recordings from these humble DIY scenes (and more), with a special focus on the thematics of tape capture. I'm currently sorting through hundreds of hours of cassette audio & plan to continue capturing as much footage and audio as I can to keep growing this collection! Many thanks to A. Decker for finding the extra video tapes used for this, I would not have been able to record this film without her! Decker's passion for camera work and help with file sorting afterwards was beyond appreciated. Dylan Dutra and I spent nights and days for about a week setting up this space, which I found to be an excellent meditation on the artistic process. Working so closely with others on an extensive visual arts project was not something I was used to, and it came very easily working with Dylan. His calm and knowing demeanor always served as a bright light even when we had no idea what we wanted to make the space into. (check out Dylan's dope art here:   / freevirusclickhere  ) Thanks as well to Leo, Jasper, and Skye for your artistic contributions and basically living with us in the space while we set this installation up! Y'all are the goats. I was also extra inspired by Tyler Newman's lovely work documenting & posting live music from his tape camera this past semester, and will post this film as clipped segments for each performer as well like he did recently on his channel. ❤️(Go check out Tyler's legendary work at    / @tylerthebettercreator   !!) Thank you SUNY Purchase & everyone in it for allowing me the space, friendship, and facilities to really envelop myself in projects like this. I hope you enjoy! VA Room 2033 5ever⭐️
