Italian Parachute Brigade "FOLGORE" PART 1/2 on action !

ALL RIGHTS RESERVED TO BRIGATA PARACADUTISTI "FOLGORE" SPECIAL THANKS TO CapitanVitellozzo - The Parachute Brigade "FOLGORE" is one of the elite units in the Italian Army and Europe . In 1941 one complete parachutists Division was operating ,it been born and trained for the occupation of Malta (Herkules Operation) but the course of the war in Africa instead it will be engaged on ground in North Africa from July 1942. The heroic behavior of the "FOLGORE" division during the battle of El Alamein, where it resisted to the attack carried from The English with two Armored Divions and others four infantry Divisions, generated the respect and the admiration also from the English enemies. 11 November of 1942 in fact, at battle concluded the "RADIO LONDON" transmitted the famous official notice: "the rests of the Folgore division have resisted beyond every limit of the human possibilities" In the 21st of November 1942 W. Curchill said : "We really must bow in front of the rest of those who have been the 'LIONS' of the Folgore Division" The "FOLGORE" was withdrawn from the forehead of El Alamein the 3 November 1942 without being defeat , at the 2 o'clock of the night, without water and transporting by arms own the tank destroyer weapons. That remained of the Division surrendered to English at 14:35 o'clock of the day 6, after to have exausted all the ammunitions and to have destroyed the weapons ,but without to show white flag and without to raise the hands . The Brigade "FOLGORE" has been employed in more peacekeeping missions in the recent years . The first one was the mission in Lebanon in 1982 (one of the first international peace missions ). In 1991 a Tactical parachutists group was in Kurdistan "Italfor Airone". From July 1992 the Brigade supplies effectives to the operation "Vespri Sicialiani" ( Control of the territory and sensible objetives defense of objects on the national field ). The "FOLGORE" was an important part of the operation "Restore Hope" (Italfor Ibis) in Somalia 1992. A parts of the Brigade have been employed more times in the Balkans (Missions IFOR/SFOR in Bosnia and KFOR in Kosovo), with the FMP Peace forces in Albania and INTERFET Mission to Timor East . The Folgore participates to the operation OldA Babylon in Iraq. And from the 2007 takes part to the Operation Leonte 2 in Lebanon .
