Why am I leaving Sri Lanka early?

Sri Lanka is a great destination and I completely understand why people rave about the place and its people, it’s just not my time. During the walk we meet a pineapple seller whose son plays cricket for Sri Lanka, this man is a bright, happy, and cheerful chap who tells the story of his family business as well as the story of Shane Warne paying for the rebuilding of the cricket ground after the tsunami. I meet a flower seller outside a temple where I explain the conflict I have entering these religious places as I’m not religious myself. I buy some flowers from the lady flower seller but let her keep the flowers. I also bump into a viewer named Simon who has married a local lady and ask him about his life and marriage in Sri Lanka. And just prior I stop briefly and talk with a man carrying a table on his head. Two brothers who run a spice shop explain they not only sell the spices but grow them as well on their family property. I’m given an assortment of spices to smell and inspect. We stop at several stupas and temples as well as look out over the Bay of Galle then walk an old Dutch market. I also try a strange nut being sold on the side of the road. Finally I give you a tour of my accommodation and room where we chat with the owner about his accommodation. A great day in Galle.
