I'm really getting tired of this "running it down" strategy. I understand why it works but there's so many better ways to play efficiently. Learn what is effective about it but improve on it. Don't play selfishly and turn what could be short games into long games. Don't just force everyone to play around you, make sure you set your team up for success as well.
