Exploring Mangalore : TannirBhavi Beach | Blue Flag beach | Recommended Beach in Mangalore Our Last Day in Mangalore: Tannir Bhavi Beach, Bengere Point, and Peacock Point Adventure In this video, we wrap up our final day in Mangalore by exploring some of the most scenic coastal spots the city has to offer. We’re heading to Tannir Bhavi Beach, Bengere Point, and Peacock Point. It’s been an incredible journey, and today’s adventure is the perfect way to say goodbye to this beautiful coastal city. Tannir Bhavi Beach is located about 15 km from Mangalore Railway Station, and the drive there is absolutely beautiful. we were greeted by a stunning view of the Gurupura River on our left. This wide, peaceful river is a major waterway in the area, and its presence really sets the tone for a relaxing drive. As we continued down the road, the scenery changed, with lush greenery on either side of the road. The beauty of this route can’t be overstated—it's peaceful and picturesque, making it a perfect precursor to the calm you’ll find at Tannir Bhavi Beach. Bengere Point: A Disappointing Detour On our way to Tannir Bhavi Beach, we noticed a sign for Bengere Beach , this is the spot where the Netravati River and Gurupura River merge before flowing into the Arabian Sea. However, when we arrived at Bengere Point, we found the area to be quite desolate. There were no other visitors, and the overall vibe of the place was a bit eerie. The views weren’t as spectacular as we’d hoped either. So, after taking a quick look around, we decided to skip Peacock Point altogether, as it didn’t seem worth the effort based on what we experienced at Bengere. Tree Park: A Hidden Gem Near Tannir Bhavi Beach Just before you reach Tannir Bhavi Beach, there’s a lovely little spot called the Tree Park. Managed by the Karnataka Forest Department, this park showcases a wide variety of medicinal plants and native trees that are found in the Western Ghats The Hidden Gem of Mangalore we finally made it to Tannir Bhavi Beach, The entrance to the beach is absolutely stunning. As you walk in, you’re greeted by towering trees that give the area a park-like feel. As we walked further in, the trees opened up to reveal the golden sands of Tannir Bhavi Beach, and the clear, pristine water stretched out before us. The first thing that struck me was just how clean and well-maintained the beach is. The beach has a few basic amenities, like food stalls, toilets, and places to sit, which are still in the process of being expanded as part of ongoing construction efforts. Tannir Bhavi Beach has also earned the Blue Flag certificationl. The Blue Flag is awarded to beaches that meet strict environmental, educational, safety, and access-related standards. This means Tannir Bhavi Beach is one of the cleanest and most eco-friendly beaches in India. It’s pollution-free, the water quality is excellent, and the beach is actively being maintained to meet international standards. Views and Atmosphere at Tannir Bhavi Beach One of the highlights of Tannir Bhavi Beach is the view. On the Right side of the beach, you can spot ships arriving and departing from Mangalore Port. They may seem small in the distance, but it adds a unique charm to the overall landscape. The beach is perfect for a peaceful day out, whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family. Unlike some of the more commercial beaches in India, Tannir Bhavi has maintained its natural beauty. There aren’t many vendors pestering you to buy things, and the atmosphere is generally calm and quiet. Sunset at Tannir Bhavi: A Must-See If you’re planning a trip to Tannir Bhavi Beach, I highly recommend timing your visit to catch the sunset. We stayed until evening, and it was one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen. The sky turned a brilliant mix of orange, pink, and purple, reflecting beautifully on the water. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, with the sound of the gentle waves in the background, was the perfect way to end our Mangalore trip. Final Thoughts on Tannir Bhavi Beach Overall, I can’t recommend Tannir Bhavi Beach enough. It’s one of the most peaceful, clean, and scenic beaches in Mangalore. Whether you’re a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or just someone looking for a quiet spot to relax, Tannir Bhavi Beach has something to offer. Between the golden sands, the clear water, and the stunning sunset views, this beach is a must-visit if you’re in Mangalore. The fact that it’s received the Blue Flag certification is just the cherry on top—knowing that it’s one of the cleanest and most eco-friendly beaches in the country makes it all the more appealing. If you’re planning a trip to Mangalore, make sure Tannir Bhavi Beach is on your list. Skip Bengere Beach and Peacock Point and head straight here for a peaceful and memorable beach day. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
