Viljandi Folk 2025 🪗

#viljandifolk #folkmusic #mumbling The Friday day of the Viljandi Folk Music Festival – popularly known as Viljandi Folk – brings music to the streets and stages and offers a break for the soul. The camera captures moments from the concerts of Tintura, Kukerpillide, Mari Kalkun, Kader Tarhanine and Trad.Attack!. Street musicians, dance steps, smiles and just as peaceful mumbling on the Viljandi Castle Hills add to the joy. Time stands still. We watch, listen and let the music carry us. The traditional music festival, which takes place every July on the Viljandi Castle Hills and in the city center, is the strongest expression of a special way of thinking that began at the Viljandi Cultural College in the early 1990s. This way of thinking values customs, traditions and local identity, trying to adapt the spiritual values accumulated over centuries and millennia to the modern way of life - always so that traditions live on and strengthen our national identity and musical mother tongue. A visitor to the Viljandi Folk Music Festival is a cheerful person, caring about their surroundings and themselves, capable of immersion and falling in love, youthful and happy. Such is the spirit of the festival. Over the years, the Viljandi Folk Music Festival has grown into one of the largest music events of its kind in the Baltics and the Nordic countries, bringing together nearly 25,000 music lovers every year. We are waiting for you in the most beautiful small town in Estonia - come and enjoy the enchanting atmosphere and first-class music! Filmed in Viljandi, July 2025. Author: Kullar Viimne
