Quest to have isiMpondo as SA's 13th official language
The AmaMpondo Kingdom has initiated talks with the government, to have isiMpondo language recognised as South Africa’s 13th official language. Princess Stella Sigcau II confirmed this during the 18th AmaMpondo Cultural Festival, held in eMampondweni, in the Eastern Cape. The festival celebrates the rich history, cultural values, and language of the AmaMpondo people. Newzroom Afrika's Ntsiki Nohiya has more from Matshona Village, outside Ntabankulu.
