Our Last Harvest at This Farm | Beans, Lupins & Long Days!

#stephbartlett #farmlifeaustralia #harvest2025 This video captures the final harvest at a farm we’ve sold, and everything that came with it; long days, moving machinery, juggling livestock, and making it all work before handover. We were reaping beans and lupins at the other farm down the road, which meant moving the entire harvest operation; header, field bins, chaser bin, trucks, service ute, diesel tanker and fire unit, there and back again. Because the farm has been sold and handover is coming up, we couldn’t store grain on site, so everything had to be harvested and moved off farm. Harvest doesn’t stop the rest of farm life though. Alongside reaping, I’m checking sheep, feeding barley, doing stock runs, and making sure nothing gets neglected just because it’s busy. There were late nights, full days, and a few “whoops” moments too 🙊 including a field bin handle bending mid-tow, which definitely added some extra stress. We finish back at home reaping barley, with straw coming out the back of the header ready to be baled; a full-circle end to a big season and the closing of a chapter for this farm.
