Amidst the climate crisis and national dependence on food imports, the documentary Hamo Dibasa Muncan Kasaba invites us to retrace the meaning of food sovereignty through direct experience. The journey begins with an understanding of Sundanese natural cosmology alongside Kang Pepep, which is then confronted with the bitter reality in Pangauban Cimanuk, plagued by "Zaman Lara" with ecological damage reaching 85.2%. As an anchor of hope amidst this crisis, Ceu Ani from Tanah Air Semesta is present to embrace the younger generation to love their homeland again and suppress their consumptive ego through "Puasa Pangauban". This search for meaning finally peaks in the hinterland of Kasepuhan Gelar Alam, where Abah Ugi and Kang Yoyo nurture a way of life that views farming as a sacred devotion to the balance of nature. Guided only by the constellations, respecting other forms of life such as rats as granary guards, and strictly forbidding the sale of rice, this community is able to secure food reserves for up to 95 years into the future.
