EPIC JOURNEY: Driving Over Alaska's Brooks Range Through the TREACHEROUS Atigun Pass - Part 2

Driving from the BLM Arctic Circle Campground to Galbraith Lake, Alaska, is an adventure that traverses some of the most remote and stunning landscapes in North America. Starting from the Arctic Circle Campground, located about 200 miles north of Fairbanks along the Dalton Highway, the journey begins in a region where the sun doesn't set for weeks during the summer and barely rises in the winter. The campground itself is a simple but significant waypoint, marked by a sign indicating the Arctic Circle, where travelers can stop for a photo and a moment of reflection on crossing into the Arctic region. As you head north from the campground, the Dalton Highway—also known as the Haul Road—unfolds through vast stretches of untouched wilderness. The drive takes you through rolling hills covered in tundra, offering occasional glimpses of wildlife such as caribou, moose, and the elusive Arctic fox. The road is mostly gravel and can be rough in spots, so a vehicle with good clearance and sturdy tires is recommended.
