Trams in Riga: Tatra trams with trolley poles (2022)
In 1882, the horse-drawn tram started operating in the latvian capital Riga, followed by the electrification starting in 1900. Unlike most of today's tram networks, most of the trams in Riga are still equipped with a classic trolley pole. The catenary had to be modified to allow the introduction of modern low-floor trams with pantographs on line 1. The fleet consists mostly of classic "Tatra" trams: The T3A class can be found on lines 2, 5, 10 and 11, while the newer T6A5 and T3MR classes serve line 7. Starting in 2010, low-floor trams of the Skoda 15T "Alfa" type were delivered, consisting of three or four parts. 0:00 Intro 0:48 Trams in Riga 13:36 Outro
