Words | Sermon on Our Speech from Proverbs 15:1-7, 14-23

Pastor Colin Smith preached this sermon on our words from Proverbs 15:1-7, 14-23 as part of the series Wisdom for Life. https://unlockingthebible.org/series/... Key Quotes from the sermon: Abusive speech is an offense for which a person is accountable to God. It is a violation of the sixth commandment that puts a person in danger of the very fire of hell. Death is in the power of the tongue. What you say comes out of you, but what you say goes down into you as well. When we get heated our words become more and more, but their effect becomes less and less. Less is often more when it comes to our words. The right word, spoken at the right time and in the right way has great power. If you want to bring blessing to others, you have to listen to them before you speak. Sin hides not only in our darkest failures; it also clings to our greatest gifts. When Jesus died on the altar of the cross, he died for all of our sins, including the sins of our lips. Open the Bible is the teaching ministry of Pastor Colin Smith. Our mission is to use a broad array of modern media to help people around the world meet Jesus. We do this by opening the Bible for them, helping them open the Bible themselves, and equipping them to open the Bible with others. ▶️ SUBSCRIBE to our channel    / @openthebibleorg   🎧 BROWSE more teaching content https://openthebible.org/ 📚 READ Daily Devotionals https://openthebible.org/daily/ 👨‍🏫 GROW with our practical training for leaders https://openthebible.org/leaders/ 📱 DOWNLOAD the Open the Bible App https://openthebible.org/app/ 📖 LEARN the Bible Story https://openthebible.org/open-the-bib... 🔗 CONNECT with Us on Social   / openthebibleorg     / openthebibleorg     / pastorcolins     / openthebibleorg     / openthebibleorg     / openthebibleorg
