SEVESO - 50 anni dal disastro della diossina - Intervista al prof. Paolo Mocarelli

Seveso (MB) - May 13, 2026 SEVESO 1976-2026. July 10, 2026, will mark the 50th anniversary of the Seveso disaster, one of the worst chemical accidents in European history. It all began at the Icmesa chemical plant, between Seveso and Meda: a reactor exploded, releasing a cloud containing TCDD, a highly toxic dioxin. The contamination also affected Cesano Maderno and Desio. Thousands of animals died, hundreds of people were evacuated, and many children developed chloracne, a serious skin disease. At the Bosco delle Querce in Seveso, Simone Beltrametti collected the testimony of Professor Paolo Mocarelli, former Head of the Laboratory Medicine Service at Desio Hospital, who was on the front lines during those tragic days.
