Do This Before You Ask AI For Help
Almost everybody asked AI the same question when it showed up. How do I save time. How do I get out from under all this. And it answered. Batch your email. Time block. Delegate more. All fine, none of it useful. Most people took that as proof AI is overhyped. But look at what happened in that exchange. We asked about our own specific week and told it nothing about our week. It gave back the average answer for the average owner, because that is all it had. Here is the harder part. Most owners could not have given the details anyway. Stop ten of us and ask which three things are eating the most hours, in order, with a number attached, and almost none of us could answer. The week is a blur because nobody tracks it and it all runs together. Before AI can give you hours back, you have to be able to say where the hours go. Three days of writing down what you did and roughly how long it took will produce that. Then the question you ask changes completely, and so does the answer. If you would rather not do that alone, the 4% Workday Assessment is a focused look at how the work actually gets done and where the hours are leaking: warrenstart.com/assessment Chapters: 00:00 AI advice without your context 00:21 Why generic productivity advice fails 01:10 AI needs the back and forth 01:42 You probably do not know where your hours go 02:26 The missing AI prerequisite 03:08 The 4% Workday Assessment 03:32 Track three days before asking AI 03:58 What your time log will reveal 04:18 Ask AI a better question 04:36 Delete or simplify before automating 05:02 AI cannot fix what you cannot show it 05:30 Get hours back for the work only you can do Free weekly letter: warrenstart.com/newsletter
