⁴ᴷ Fukuoka: Kokura Station (福岡県: 小倉駅) - Japan Walking Tour (March, 2025)

Just like last month, I took the ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Moji Port in Kitakyushu City. From there, I crossed the Kanmon Strait back to Honshu and began my journey along the Seto Inland Sea, heading toward Tokyo. First up is the area around Kokura Station in Kitakyushu, which I didn’t have time to film during my previous visit. Perhaps because it was a public holiday, there seemed to be quite a few people walking through the arcade shopping streets—though I wonder if that’s always the case? I was glad to see that Tanga Market, which was damaged by fire, had managed to reopen as an open-air market, and that the Kokura Showakan cinema had also reopened. Around the strip theater area, I noticed several police officers gathering and wondered what was happening—it turns out there had been a fight.
