Become a member of this channel and get benefits: / @maniadeflor Yay! In today's video I'm going to talk about 10 flowering plants to grow indoors. Some species are more well-known, others more exotic, and in the video I'll tell you a little about each of them. To begin, I want to talk briefly about light because I know that many people, when they hear "indoor plants," immediately think about where they're going to put the plant to make the house beautiful, and forget to think about the light that environment receives. So I'm going to talk about the main concepts and you'll understand once and for all: SHADE in gardening means a place without direct sun but with plenty of natural light. And when we hear that in the shade the light is diffused, it means that in that space the light will enter through a window or glass door and reach the plant gently, without direct sun. In PARTIAL SHADE, this means the plant needs to receive direct sunlight for up to 4 hours a day. PEACE LILY It can be grown in shade or partial shade, receiving a few hours of sun every day. It's in partial shade that the Peace Lily will produce more flowers. It likes frequent watering and signals when it's thirsty by drooping its leaves. BROMELIAD It has a crown-shaped flower, is quite resistant, and brings a tropical feel to the decor. It should be grown in shade or partial shade, receiving a few hours of sun every day. It appreciates frequent watering of the soil and a little water inside the crown. Just remember to remove this water after a few days to prevent the proliferation of dengue mosquitoes. ANTHURIUM It can be grown in shade and partial shade. It needs to be planted in soil rich in organic matter with worm humus and coconut chips mixed with potting soil. Cyclamen A very interesting flower that draws attention because of its inverted petals. It is a plant that appreciates the cold. It usually goes dormant after flowering, but the bulbs remain alive under the substrate and sprout again in the spring. Watering should be done whenever you touch the soil and feel that it is slightly dry, and never soak it because the plant will rot. Gloxinia It has large, velvety leaves and the flower colors are varied: white, pink, purple, red, some mixed and often with spots. It should be grown in partial shade, receiving a few hours of weak sun every day. Aphelandra It is a lesser-known, but very beautiful plant. It has dark green leaves with well-marked veins in white or yellow. It blooms in spring and summer. It should be grown in diffused light or partial shade and watered regularly. Always touch the soil to feel the moisture before watering. VIOLET One important aspect of growing violets is avoiding wetting the leaves and flowers, always directing the watering can towards the soil. Touch the soil before watering to check if it's dry and water until the excess water drains from the pot's drainage holes. Regarding light, it should be grown in plenty of natural light. MAY FLOWER It should be grown in partial shade; it needs a few hours of sun to bloom. The most difficult part of growing it is the watering schedule. If watering is too infrequent, the leaves wilt and the plant suffers, and if overwatering, the plant rots. Always touch the substrate before watering and only water if it is slightly dry. BEGONIAS It's a beautiful plant with long-lasting, delicate blooms throughout the year, and they are also edible. They should be kept in shady environments with plenty of filtered light or in partial shade receiving a few hours of sun every day. Water only when you touch the substrate and feel it is dry; avoid wetting the leaves and flowers. ORCHIDS One of the secrets to orchids blooming is the correct light. Environments with plenty of light, receiving weak sunlight, and warmer environments are ideal for orchids. Fertilizing orchids monthly using Bokashi is also very important for the healthy development of the plant, in addition to stimulating flowering. To water, ideally, place the pot in a sink or tub, water the substrate abundantly, let the excess water drain, and only then return the pot to its decorative position. Never leave water in saucers. I hope you enjoyed learning about 10 options for flowering plants to grow indoors.
