Gen 1 and Gen 2 FJR1300 Ignition switch repair
This is from my 2005 Yamaha FJR 1300. Applicable for both Gen 1 and Gen 2. Most replace the ignition however you will need to rekey the whole bike or have 2 keys. I wanted to attempt to keep my stock ignition so I pulled it apart to see if the cold weld wire issue was the problem. It is a bit of a hastle to drill and extract the breakaway security screws. The first side got a little mared from the larger bit so I used a small bit. I used a number 1 extraction bit (craftsman). To replace the old break away screws I got m4-.70x 12button (hex head) screws from Lowes.
